Our Design & Development Process

step 1

Start

Choose a Design Template

Start with one of our hand-crafted design template (WordPress themes). Within each design template, there are two levels of design:

  • "Basic Design"
  • "Enhanced Design" variations

Choose the one that best suits your content and unique brand — as a basis for your website's look and feel. Check out all of our template live examples:

step 2

Discovery

Initial Consultation

Contact us via email or a messaging app, so we can get to know your business and financial website goals, your advisory firm structure, offerings, investment approach and target market. We'll identify what you like and don't like from a design prospective. Suggest best practices, recommendations, images, menu and design ideas.

We will also ask you to download, fill in, and send us back our Project Discovery Questionnaire. To make the most of our discovery session, we encourage you to preview the Questionnaire in advance.

step 3

Detailed Quotation

Proposal and Quote

Next we define the project scope to prepare for launch. All the previous discussions will be wrapped up in a formal proposal and quote for the project. Here we'll also discuss time frame for deliverables and payment plans.

  • Accept Quote. When you want to get started simply pay the deposit, this is usually ⅓ the quoted amount. Now it's time to begin.
  • We'll send you a Start-up Kit showing how, what, why, when and where. Everything you'll need to know to get started. If you have any questions, we are more than happy to take your requests.
step 4

Website Content Supply

Provide Us with Your Assets

Depending on the existing situation and/or your wishes, there are 3 different scenarios:

  1. You provide all the content — in Word DOC or PDF files (or other word processing document).
  2. Carryover & Mixed Content. We take your existing website content, then revise it and supplement with enough new information to reinforce the overall website concept.
  3. We provide industry-specific content for the entire website.

The images can be sourced and provided by you, or we can find some that best represent your business. Either way, it is supposed that you read through the Start-up Kit and supply us with everything we need.

It's important to know, this is the biggest roadblock when creating a website — if things are going to slow up, it will be at this point.

step 5

Design, Build, Content

Creating a Draft of Your Website

With all the information needed, we can start formatting and designing your site using our years of experience in web design & development. We will work thoroughly to meet all of your design standards and requirements.

Adviser Webstyle implements your business into a website, not just fits your business into a chosen template…

Usually it takes 5-10 business days for building and proper testing the initial draft of your website before pushing it over to you for approval. Our goal is to get it 80% done, based on the information we obtain from our initial discovery sessions.

step 6

First Viewing

Draft Preview

At this point, we're happy, now we need you to be. We'll send you a link to the development site and give you a rundown on what we've done. After previewing and testing the live demo, you tell us your thoughts and corrections and we implement those changes while guiding you of any pitfall that may occur with any suggestion you make.

Revisions & Edits. It is best to make notes about needed changes within 14 days to keep the site content and your revisions fresh in your mind. After the changes have been completed and customer-approved, we will move on to the final stage in our process.

step 7

Launch

Site Goes Live

All revisions are made and you're happy with our work. Now all that is need is to pay the final ⅔ of the invoice.

NOTE: You can host your website with any provider you choose.

The site goes live and we do some final procedures that can only be implemented on a live site. Your new website is launched onto the world wide web and you can begin to use it to promote your business. Exciting times!

Our Guiding Principles

1. Build quality content

A website full of useful educational content that solves peoples problems will always succeed.

2. Make it look great

Clean design, great visuals and an interesting way to present information that encourages an individual to get in touch.

3. Good technical experience

A fast to load, mobile friendly website with the least amount of friction as possible will always win.

FAQ

Web Design and Build

Yes. We design all our websites to look just as good on smartphones and tablets as they do on desktop screens. With over 50% of searches on mobile, your new website comes mobile responsive at no extra charge. This responsive feature is a part of our web developing process and we also make sure your mobile website works across iOS & Android devices.

If you have a website and you're not sure if it's mobile friendly you can use this Google Mobile Friendly Test.

We use WordPress to build all our websites, as it provides a more flexible long-term solution for our clients. A custom-built WordPress website allows us, your developer, to have complete control over your design and code.

WordPress is the most popular website platform in the world. It is a highly customisable, reliable, and top performing Content Management System (CMS). This means that you, the customer, can get into the site (through an admin area) and manage your content whenever you like.

The length of time it takes to create a fully functional website is based on several factors. Typically a custom website takes about 2-6 weeks, depending on the complexity. It also depends on how quickly feedback, deliverables, and approvals are given. We will make every effort to meet the time-frame you have in mind.

The cost of a website can vary depending on various factors, just like the cost of a house may vary. A website project by Adviser Webstyle generally starts in the $1,400 range for simple Basic Design sites and upwards depending on your unique needs. For more information, see our Website Pricing section.

Once you have paid for your website in full, then all the intellectual property is transferred to you at the completion of the website. You will always retain complete ownership of the designs, artwork, logos, data, files, content and every part of your site.

It's preferable if you have all your text, photos and images ready to go before we begin. We'll assist you if you're not sure what's needed, and we can help with sourcing suitable high quality stock photographs if you don't have your own photos. If you already have a well designed logo and brand assets you should provide us with a style guide and all downloadable brand assets.

For more information, see Provide Us with Your Assets section above.

Support

There are no monthly subscription fees or hidden fees related to your website. The only ongoing costs are your yearly hosting and domain name registration/renewal.

Hosting: Every website on the Internet needs to be "hosted" on a server somewhere (preferably with data center in Australia or Singapore). Without this hosting, your website would not show online and no one would be able to view it. A hosting company charges a yearly rental fee for your hosting.

Domain Name Renewal: Each year, your domain name will require renewal.

Yes, we offer all of our customers maintenance plans for websites we create. We believe it is not only our job to design and build your website, but to also maintain, look after and protect it. Select a maintenance plan that best suits your needs.

You have total control over the website and can make as many changes as you like through the back-end of your WordPress website. We will provide you with a login to the administration area, with detailed instructions on how you can update certain areas.

As your WordPress webmaster, we offer continuous webmaster services on an as-needed, hourly basis. All we need from you to make changes once the website is up and running is an email or chat message that describes the additional work to be done for your site. We'll make those changes for you as soon as we're able, which is generally within a day-or-so.

Absolutely no. Once we have launched the site you will be given all the logins and there are no contracts or monthly fees. You will be able to take your site anywhere you like. If for any reason you decide you want to take your site to another hosting service and get another company to service the site, we will assist you in making the transition as effortlessly and efficiently as possible.

Yes, we have successfully helped a few clients who needed to find a new company to work with. We are able to support your existing site in its current hosting location or transfer it to be hosted with a new provider. Also we'd be happy to discuss a redesign of your website if you are interested.

Search Engine Optimization

We design and build every new site with the goal of setting it up so it will have the best chance of ranking on Google. A sitemap is created and submitted to Google. It's a crucial component of your website, as it acts as a guide for search engines telling them about your site structure and its important pages that should be crawled and indexed for further ranking. Titles and meta descriptions are set to make them attractive to users, as well as having keywords included for search engines. Images are named correctly so that Google includes them as part of the search algorithm.

To rank #1 – #3 for a highly specific and competitive phrase may take years to accomplish, if it's possible at all. In saying that, you should start seeing some kind of results in less than a month – once the Google bot has crawled your site and indexed the new information. In general you can expect your website will first be crawled/indexed from 4 days to 4 weeks.

Whether your website appears on page 1 of Google depends on a number of factors. It depends on the search phrase people are using and the number of other websites that are also available for those search phrases. Nobody can truly say how long it will take for your website to appear at the top of search engine results pages (including people who actually work for Google), however there are a number of factors that can improve your chances.

Building your website on WordPress is a good start as WordPress has some great Search Engine Optimisation fundamentals built-in. Creating unique and interesting content on a regular basis for your website is also critical to increase your visibility amongst search engines. Launching your website and then forgetting about it is a sure-fire way to get lost amongst the noise.

The majority of web traffic is driven by the major search engines like Google. Although social media and other types of traffic can route users to your website, the bulk of website traffic is driven by search engines. This statement is true regardless of your website's purpose.

Search engines are powerful because they provide targeted traffic. Or in other words, search engines bring users that are seeking what you offer or sell. Investing in SEO can have a much higher rate of return when compared to other types of marketing efforts.

When you incorporate real SEO into your website, you've made a conscious decision to plant a seed, nurture that seed, and help it grow over time. This long-term strategy and efforts produce high-quality results that continue to produce results year and year.

For SEO to truly work and be sustainable, it needs to include a process of build up. Any SEO consultant who says otherwise is fooling you. SEO is an ongoing effort, but one that is totally worth it.

Yes. When your website is completed and ready to run publicly, we will set up your Google Analytics account. We include the login details in your "Welcome to your site" letter sent when your website goes live.
